This is a short article about a family from Gaza that is not being allowed to emigrate. I do not have numbers of those who are in a similar position, but if any of you have firm information, I would be very appreciative to learn.
I hope this is not behind a pay wall, but I suspect it is. Eli Lake does a fine job of explaining the influence of Edward Said on the direction of MENA (Middle East/North African) studies, critiquing in a measured way.
