Dr. Einat Wilf: "After the negotiations of the 90s, I started listening to the Palestinians. As Israel offered and America pressured negotiations, I noticed that the Palestinians were never really there to accept the existence of a Jewish state. Since then, there has been one vow I made to myself over the last twenty years - to listen to the Palestinians without wishful thinking. Listening to the supposed negotiations for the hostages, I am not hearing that there is a deal."

“In a cinema defined by endless remakes, sequels, franchises, and AI-generated slop, director Nathan Silver at least shows good taste in his influences by transposing the 1971 cult classic Harold and Maude, about an age-inappropriate romance between a 19-year-old man and a 79-year-old Holocaust survivor, to a present-day upstate New York congregation of American Jews. The most daring thing about the film, however, is its Hebrew-language “vintage” rock soundtrack featuring Israeli indie musicians from the 1960s and 1970s.”

An excellent review of Joshua Leifer’s new book Tablets Shattered: The End of an American Jewish Century and the Future of Jewish Life. Yet as a confirmed leftist, he brings some interesting points and points an interesting way for a more passionate Jewish life.

“U.S. officials and former IDF commanders argue that technological measures could replace the need for an IDF presence along the Gaza-Egyptian border to prevent future arms smuggling by Hamas. However, past experiences, including the events of October 7, clearly demonstrate the fallacy of this claim.”

Dr. Eric Cohen discusses some of the scientific and ethical considerations behind the issue of embryonic stem cell research. “But framing the embryo question as a clash between religion and science glosses over many important complexities. It is far too easy to presume that religious opposition to embryo research is not rational, but just sectarian piety. And it is far too easy to presume that the public case for embryo research is the most rational case, grounded in the best scientific evidence.”
