Shabbat reading
but not Shabbat content...
Good stuff to read, and Shabbat is coming up:
(some this stuff is behind paywalls, sorry about that)
The Hill is a site that covers news and opinion of government circles. You’ll find both Democrats and Republican on this site. This article is about the hypocrisy of the American judicial system to root out hate crimes against every minority except, well, you can figure ti out. It is a good article.
a video was released today that shows Israeli women soldiers - security observers - being captured by Hamas and trucked into Gaza. These are clips from body cams of the terrorists. These girls (19? 20? years old) have been held by Hamas for the last 8 months. I don’t have to detail - you can figure out by yourself what that must be like.

fascinating interview with a leftist who risked cancellation by published an article about the Hamas war. One of the two most important articles here, I think.

Michael Oren published this guest article on his page - it is maybe the most important link here. First, you should be reading Michael Oren. Second, I would recommend you read “Can the Whole World Be Wrong” by Michael Landes. But if you want the main message of that long and fascinating book in short form, read this article. Third, this article - agains by a “leftist,” talks about the sub-plot of the pro-Hamas demonstrations, what the goal is, and how Islamic fundamentalists have done really an amazing job in advancing their agenda.
RCP (Real Clear Politics) is a great resource for political news, polls, and they have sections for lots of other stuff too. Worth your while to check out. This article is about how rich Left philanthropists (two of whom are Jewish) are helping fund the pro-Hamas demonstrations on campuses.
I listen the Free Press quite a lot - trying to weave through the weeds to find the flowers. This in one - how young Jewish singles using dating apps are finding themselves excluded and even kicked off sites for being Zionists and Jewish.
A working paper from Hebrew University shows that Israel has been sending in sufficient food for Gaza civilians, contradicting allegations by the International Criminal Court that Israel has been using starvation s a weapon of war.

I am an old style democrat, and I love sites and articles that bring democratic thinking back to its roots. This site is right up my alley.

"Can the Whole World Be Wrong?" was already on my to read list, but it's by Richard Landes, not Michael.
My cousin was a security observer, but in the north, and she'd been promoted and moved elsewhere before 7 October. But it terrifies me to think she could easily have been murdered or taken hostage if things had been slightly different.
